Loyalty and Mosey Tap
A free loyalty programme for cafés and restaurants, with Mosey Tap
Pick a stamp card or a points programme, set a reward your margin can afford and let customers earn automatically. At the counter, a tap on your Mosey tag adds a visit in one press.
Free to claim
Every tool is optional.
How do I turn first visits into regulars?
Most first visits are the last. A guest enjoys the food, means to come back, and then forgets, or chooses somewhere closer on the night. Regulars are the part of your trade that does not need advertising, and the gap between a first and a fifth visit is where a business is won or lost.
Paper stamp cards get lost in wallets and nobody checks them on a busy Friday. Loyalty apps from other companies often charge a monthly fee.
Mosey loyalty is free for every plan. Guests join in the app, earn automatically on the channels you choose and collect the reward at your till or counter, and the reasons they come back are yours to see.
How does a loyalty programme work on Mosey?
Pick a programme and a reward
Open Loyalty, then Programmes. Choose a visit programme, a frequency programme, a spend band, a tiered programme or an item stamp card, such as the tenth coffee free. Set the reward and when it expires. Start with one simple programme.
Choose what earns
Each channel has its own switch: in store, Order Ahead collection, delivery, vouchers, catering and more. Loyalty counts the food, not the tax, and on a split bill each person earns for their own share.
Serve at the counter
A guest taps their phone on your Mosey tag, or reads out their six digit code and says yes on their phone, and their card opens on the Counter. Press Add visit, or give a reward when one is ready. They see it on their phone at once.
What do my customers see?
Progress they can see
In the app a guest sees their stamps or points and how far they are from a reward. They join a programme themselves, which records their consent once for that programme.
A reward that is easy to claim
They show the reward in the app and staff redeem it at the till or the Counter, or with the four digit code. Your reward expires when you say it does, so say so on the programme.
Fair rules
A refund takes back what an order earned, including a bonus from a boost. A birthday treat, a reward you choose, can be given in the week around a member's birthday.
A tap is a request, never a grant. Nothing is credited until your staff press the button, and anything pressed by mistake can be undone.
How do I start a loyalty programme this week?
- Claim your business free and connect Stripe in Account and billing. Rewards are redeemed through payments, so it is the one requirement.
- Open Loyalty, then Programmes, and pick a type. A stamp card on your coffee is easy to explain at the till.
- Work out what a reward costs you as a share of what a guest spends to earn it, and check the same sum for any spend band before you set it.
- Choose the channels that count, and switch on a boost for a quiet Tuesday if you want one.
- Set up your Mosey tag under Counter, then Mosey tags, and give the person behind the bar the serve the Counter permission, which staff have by default.
- Tell your regulars in person for the first two weeks. The programme is only as good as the sentence you use to sell it at the till.
What does loyalty cost on Mosey?
Loyalty programmes are free on every plan, with no commission and no monthly fee. Rewards are given by you, so the cost is the food or drink you hand over, which is why it is worth working out before you set one.

How is this different from a paper stamp card or a loyalty app?
A paper card is lost in a wallet and cannot tell you anything. A Mosey programme counts for you, takes back what a refund undoes and shows you who your repeat customers are.
A loyalty app from another company often charges monthly. Here the programme is free and sits inside the same app your customers already use to find you, book and order.
The Counter is built for a busy bar. A second visit on the same day is allowed, because that is how regulars behave, and repeats within thirty minutes are shown to staff rather than blocked. Staff can undo an action within 15 minutes, and after that removing one needs the manage loyalty permission and a reason.
Who is loyalty right for: café, restaurant, bar or food truck?
Cafés and bakeries, where people come several times a week, get the most from an item stamp card. A bar or a restaurant can use a visit or spend programme for regulars. A food truck at a regular pitch can use a stamp card. A business with mostly one-off visitors may prefer a membership or vouchers.

Loyalty and Mosey Tap questions from owners
Is loyalty free to use?
Yes. Loyalty is free on every plan. The one requirement is a connected Stripe account, because rewards are redeemed through payments at your till or with Mosey Pay.
Does a tap give the guest a reward automatically?
No. A tap is a request and staff confirm it. The exceptions are self check-in at an event door and a trail stamp, both off until you switch them on.
Can a guest earn on delivery orders?
Only if you switch that channel on. In store, collection, delivery, vouchers and catering each have their own switch.
What happens to rewards if I refund an order?
A refund takes back the visit, stamps or points it earned, including any boost. A reward used on a fully refunded order is returned to the guest.
What if a guest has not joined the programme?
The Counter says so and does not add the visit. The guest joins in the app, which records their consent once for that programme.
What is a Mosey tag?
A sticker or card that a guest taps with their phone, which opens your business in their Mosey app. You manage them under Counter, then Mosey tags.
Can I change a programme after guests have joined?
Yes, but think first. Progress already earned stays as it was, so a change affects what guests earn from then on.
