Birthday offers and bonus stamps
Birthday offers and bonus stamps that bring customers back
Give your loyalty members a free item, a percentage or an amount off around their birthday, run a double-stamp day on a quiet afternoon, and send a bonus stamp to a customer who has not been in for a while.
Free to claim
Every tool is optional.
How do you give a regular a reason to come in this week?
A stamp card gets people to ten visits. It does not tell you when someone's birthday is, which Tuesday is quiet or who has not been in since March.
The usual fix is a poster, a social post and hope. A better one is a small gift that arrives on its own, in the right week, from a business the customer already likes.
Mosey adds three of them to the loyalty programme you already run: a birthday treat, a bonus day and a bonus stamp.
How do birthday offers and bonus stamps work?
Switch on a birthday treat
On a loyalty programme, turn on Birthday treat and choose something free, a percentage off or an amount off. Mosey gives it to each member around their birthday, without you doing anything.
Plan a bonus day
Choose a programme, then double stamps or one extra stamp. Pick the dates, the weekdays and the hours, and decide whether it counts in store only. You can tell members, free, at most once a week.
Send a bonus stamp
In Outreach, build a group such as customers one visit from a reward, and give each person from one to ten bonus stamps or visits on a programme you run. The message is paid from your budget. The bonus itself carries no commission.
What does the customer see?
A gift that turns up
A member's birthday treat appears in their rewards in the days around their birthday, from nine in the morning your time. They redeem it at your counter like any other reward.
Asked once, never nagged
A member who has not told Mosey their birthday is asked once, on their loyalty card.
Bonus days that are shown
A bonus day is advertised in the app while it is on, so a double-stamp afternoon fills itself. The stamp your till gives always matches what the app says.
Loyalty programmes are free, and so are birthday treats and bonus days. Only a message to a group is paid, and the price per person is shown first.
How do I set up birthday offers and bonus stamps?
- Host your business on Mosey and open Loyalty. If you have no programme yet, start one from a template such as Coffee card or Visit card.
- Open the programme and expand Birthday treat. Tick Give members a treat for their birthday, choose the treat and read the preview line before you save.
- Open Plan a bonus day. Choose double stamps or one extra stamp, the dates, the weekdays and the hours. A frequency programme cannot be boosted.
- Optional: set Surprise odds, from one in two to one in a hundred, so a customer who pays by card sometimes gets one extra stamp.
- In Outreach, open CRM and choose a group. Under What each person gets, pick Loyalty bonus, choose the programme and the number of bonus stamps.
- For a birthday message, create a win-back campaign aimed at Birthday offer, every year. Each customer is reached once a year, in their birthday month, if they told Mosey and said yes to marketing.
What do birthday offers and bonus stamps cost?
Loyalty programmes are free on every plan, including birthday treats, bonus days and surprise stamps. The treat costs you what it is worth when a member uses it. Messages sent from Outreach are paid per person from a budget, and the price is shown before you pay. A bonus stamp or a voucher attached to a message carries no Mosey commission.

How is this different from a paper stamp card?
A paper card cannot tell you a birthday is coming, run a double-stamp hour or find the customer who has not been in. It also gets lost. A Mosey card lives in the customer's app, and every stamp is recorded.
A bonus is never a discount you forgot to switch off. It has dates, hours and a programme, and it ends when you set it to.
Who should run birthday offers and bonus stamps?
Cafés, bakeries and takeaways with regulars: any business where a visit is small and frequent, and a free coffee on a birthday is a cheap way to be remembered. If you sell high-ticket meals a few times a year, a membership or a deposit offer fits better.
Be the café that remembers

Birthday offers and bonus stamps: questions from owners
How does Mosey know when it is a member's birthday?
The member tells Mosey on their loyalty card, and members who have not are asked once. A treat is only given to members who have told us.
What can the birthday treat be?
Something free that you name, a percentage off, or an amount off. You see a preview line before you save.
Can I run a double-stamp day?
Yes. Plan a bonus day for double stamps or one extra stamp on any programme except a frequency one, on the dates, weekdays and hours you choose.
Is a bonus stamp the same as a discount?
No. It is progress on a programme you already run, with no voucher and no commission.
Does it need marketing consent?
A message from Outreach reaches only customers who said yes to marketing. The birthday treat is part of the loyalty programme itself.
Can one message carry a voucher and a bonus stamp?
No. A message carries one offer, either a voucher or a loyalty bonus.
