How does booking a table work on Mosey?
Mosey shows you places near you that take bookings, with the times that are free for your party. You choose a day, a time and how many of you there are, add anything the place should know and confirm. Your booking goes into My Bookings, where you can manage it.
Some places confirm straight away. Others take it as a request and confirm it themselves, and the app tells you which, so you are never left wondering whether you have a table.
How do I book a table on Mosey?
Find a place
Look for places that take bookings near you. Filter by cuisine, price, rating or how fast they book out.
Pick a time and party size
Choose the day and the time that suits, then how many of you there are. Add allergies, an occasion or a seating preference if you like.
Confirm, and pay if asked
Some places ask for a deposit. Pay it in the app, and cancel inside the free window to get it back.
What can I tell the place when I book?
A booking is a chance to say what would make the evening easier, and the place sees it all in one go.
- Allergens and other dietary needs, so the kitchen knows before you arrive.
- The occasion, such as a birthday or an anniversary.
- Accessibility needs, from step-free entry to a hearing loop.
- A table or space preference, such as outdoors, quiet or by the window.
- Special requests, and anything else worth knowing.
What if the place is full?
A full place is rarely full all night. Mosey gives you three ways to get in.
Join the queue
Add your party size and when you will arrive, and the app tells you how long the wait is and when your table is close. Some places hold a table for you once you are called.
Set a cancellation alert
Say the day, the time and the party size you want, for one place, a list of places or anywhere near you. When a matching cancellation comes up, you are told.
Look at last-minute tables
People hand back tables they cannot use, sometimes with a discount. They show up in a last-minute list you can claim from.
How do deposits and cancellations work?
Some places ask for a deposit to protect a table. The amount is shown before you confirm. Cancel inside the free window and you get it back, and the money goes to the place, not to Mosey.
Booking for a group? You can split a deposit with friends. Each person gets their share to pay in the app. If a share is still unpaid twelve hours before the booking, it is charged to the organiser's saved card, so the place is paid and your table stays safe.
If you have a voucher for the place, you can apply it to the deposit.
What if my plans change?
Running late? Tell the place from the app, and your table is held while you make your way over. If you cannot go at all, you have choices. You can hand the booking to a friend, who has a day to accept it. You can offer the table to someone else, and if they book it you get your deposit back in full.
You can cancel from the app too. The place's deposit and cancellation terms are shown before you confirm, so you know where you stand.
Can I book for a big group or a private event?
Yes. For groups and private hire, you send a request with your date, the number of guests, the occasion and the space you would like. The place reviews it and replies, and the app marks it clearly as a request and not yet a confirmed booking.
You can filter for large groups, private hire and outdoor spaces, so you only see places that can do what you need.

Yes, at places that take Order Ahead. Build your order in the app, add notes and allergies, pay, and follow it until it is ready.

You can hand the booking to a friend, or offer the table to someone else. If someone takes a table you offered, you get your deposit back in full.
Can I book for a large group?
