What Mosey does

Food halls and markets on Mosey: follow them, get market day reminders and rate the stalls

A food hall or market is a page of its own on Mosey, with its stalls, its market days and a reminder on the morning of each one.

How do food halls and markets work on Mosey?

A food hall or market is a place on Mosey that is not a place to eat itself. Its page lists the stalls or counters under it, with its opening hours or market days and a map.

Each stall is an ordinary place with its own page. A taco truck that trades at three markets has one page and one set of ratings, and all three markets link to it.

How do I use a food hall or market in Mosey?

  1. Find a hall or market

Look for Food halls and Markets this weekend on Home, or the rows for halls and markets near a city in Travel. The page shows its stalls and its days.

  2. Follow it or ask for a reminder

Follow a hall to keep it in your list. On a market, choose Remind me on market days to get a push on the morning of each one.

  3. Rate the stall you ate at

Rate the hall or market itself, or any stall or counter you bought from. A stall’s rating stays with the stall.

How do market day reminders work?

On a market, choose Remind me on market days. You follow the market and say yes to hearing from it, which is one choice. Unfollow, and the reminders stop.

On the morning of each market day, between eight and noon in the market’s own time, you get one push. It names up to three stalls that have confirmed they are there, or gives the opening hours if none have. A closed day sends nothing, and an extra day does.

Do reminders follow my quiet hours?

Yes. A market reminder is treated like an offer from any place, so it follows your quiet hours, the daily limit on offers and your choice of a daily digest. If you chose a digest, the reminder waits in your inbox for it.

A reminder held back is still kept in your inbox, so you can read it later.

How do I know who is trading today?

A market page shows Here today, Here this Saturday or the next date, with the stalls that have said they will be there. The note says it plainly: stalls rotate, and these have said they will be here.

If nobody has confirmed yet, it says so. A market’s days come as weekly rules and exceptions, so a closed day and an extra day both show correctly.

Where is each stall?

A hall or market can upload its own plan. Tap a stall on the floor plan or stall map to see who it is. Where there is no plan, the page lists every stall or counter from A to Z.

The Counters or Stalls tab lists them all, and each opens as its own place.

How do ratings at a hall or market work?

You can rate the hall or market itself, and any stall or counter you ate at. A rating of a stall made from the hall’s page is the stall’s rating. It is counted once, on the stall, and the hall’s score is made only from ratings of the hall.

Best dishes need at least two different people to have rated a dish. Once three dishes qualify from ratings made here, the list is of dishes rated here. Until then it shows the stalls’ top dishes from anywhere on Mosey, and says so.

Can I order or book through a hall or market?

No. A hall or market page offers no order, booking or payment. Each stall sells its own food in its own way, and a stall that takes orders through Mosey has that on its own page.

A food festival is different: it can sell tickets, and its organiser is paid directly.

Why use Mosey at a hall or market?

Because the stall is the thing you want to go back to, not the building. Every stall is its own place with its own page, followers and ratings, so a dish you loved is easy to find again.

  • Each stall or counter has its own page and ratings.
  • Only stalls that have confirmed a market day are shown as there.
  • One reminder a day, on the morning of a market day, and none on a closed day.

Questions about food halls and markets

  • What is the difference between a food hall and a market?

A hall has opening hours, like a building with counters inside. A market keeps market days, such as a Saturday morning, and its page shows the next ones.

  • Do I get reminders for a food hall?

No. The reminder is for markets, because a market keeps days. A hall has opening hours, and you can follow it to keep it in your list.

  • When does the reminder arrive?

In the morning of the market day, between eight and noon in the market’s own time. It is one reminder for each market each day.

  • How do I stop the reminders?

Unfollow the market. Following and the reminder go together, so unfollowing ends them. You can also turn the reminder off on the market’s page.

  • Can I order, book or pay through a hall or market page?

No. A hall or market never takes an order, a booking or a payment through Mosey. The stalls sell their own food.

  • Why does a market show nobody trading on a day?

Stalls rotate, and a stall appears as there only when it has confirmed that day. Check back nearer the day.

  • Does a stall have its own rating?

Yes. A stall or counter is its own place, with its own ratings. A rating you make from a hall’s page is still the stall’s rating, and the hall’s own score is made only from ratings of the hall itself.

  • Where do I find a stall on the floor plan?

If the hall or market has uploaded a plan, tap a stall on it to see who it is. If not, the page lists every stall from A to Z.
