What Mosey does

Your food passport: a stamp for every town you have eaten in

Rate a place somewhere new and Mosey stamps your passport with the country, the town and the neighbourhood. Finish a food trail or rate a Gold place for more. Share your stamps, or compare passports with friends.

What is a food passport on Mosey?

Your passport collects a stamp for each country, city or town, and neighbourhood where you have rated a place to eat. It also stamps the food trails you finish, the Gold places you have rated and the Mosey picks you complete.

Nothing is logged by hand. A stamp is worked out from your ratings, drops and trails, so the passport fills in as you eat.

How do I get stamps in my passport?

  1. Rate a place

Rate somewhere you have eaten, or post a drop from it. The first time in a country, town or neighbourhood earns a stamp.

  2. Collect more kinds

Finish a food trail for a trail stamp, rate a Gold place for a Gold stamp or finish a Mosey pick for a pick stamp.

  3. Open your passport

Open it from your profile. Stamps, trips and a map are one tap apart, and you can share your cover, a stamp or your whole year.

What earns a stamp?

There are six kinds of stamp, and each one carries the date of your first visit.

  • A country, the first time you rate a place or post a drop there.
  • A city or town, the same way.
  • A neighbourhood, where the place sits in one.
  • A food trail, when you complete it.
  • A Gold place you have rated, as long as it holds Gold.
  • A Mosey pick, when you have rated every place on it.

What does not earn a stamp?

A stamp needs a real visit that you have rated or posted. A destination vote and a Been here tap on the map do not earn one.

Hotels and places that are still waiting to be approved do not count either.

What can I see in my passport?

Three tabs: Stamps, Trips and Map. Filter the stamps by countries, cities and towns, neighbourhoods, trails, Gold places and picks, or look at a single year.

The map shows the cities and towns you have collected stamps in. Progress shows how many neighbourhoods of a city, how many counties or regions of a country and how many Mosey cities you have covered, with what is still to explore.

How do trips work?

Tell Mosey where home is and it can find trips away in your ratings. Keep a trip and everywhere you rate on it is gathered into one list and stamped in your passport.

Trips are only shown to the person who took them.

Can I share my passport or compare it with friends?

Share your cover, your newest stamp, a whole year or all your stamps as an image. Compare passports with a friend to see the countries you share and the places they loved that you have not tried yet.

You can compare only with people whose profile you can see: a private profile needs a follow first.

Why keep a food passport?

Because it is a record of where you have eaten that you never have to write. Every rating already knows where it was, so the passport fills in behind you, and it shows you what is still to explore in the towns you love.

  • Stamps appear on their own as you rate: nothing to log.
  • Progress shows the neighbourhoods, counties and regions still to explore.
  • Trips away are shown only to you.

Questions about your food passport

  • Does the food passport cost anything?

No. It comes with the Mosey app, and the stamps are worked out from what you rate and post.

  • Do I have to rate a place to get a stamp?

A rating or a drop earns a country, town or neighbourhood stamp. Finishing a food trail earns a trail stamp, and finishing a Mosey pick, which means rating every place on it, earns a pick stamp.

  • What if I eat somewhere small, without a town of its own?

It still counts. A place that sits in a county or region but not in a named town is stamped as that region, so rural places are not left out.

  • Does a hotel stay earn a stamp?

No. Hotels are left out, and so are places that are still waiting to be approved.

  • Can other people see my passport?

If your profile is public, yes. If it is private, only people who follow you can see it, and trips are only ever shown to you.

  • What happens to a stamp if I remove a rating?

The stamp goes with it. Stamps are worked out from your ratings every time you open the passport, so they never drift from what you have rated.

  • Can I see my passport on the website?

No. The passport lives in the Mosey app, next to your profile and your ratings.

  • Can I share a stamp?

Yes. Press and hold a stamp to share it, or share your cover, a single year or all your stamps as an image.
