What Mosey does

Ask for a refund on an order or ticket, and follow what happens next

Open what you bought, choose Request refund and say why. The place reviews it, and you are told whether it was approved, approved in part or declined.

How does a refund request work in Mosey?

When something has gone wrong with an order, a ticket or a voucher, you ask the place for your money back from the item itself in the app. The place sees what it was, when you bought it and the reason you gave.

Nothing is refunded until the place has looked at it. When it has, you are told whether it approved the request in full, in part or not at all, and the answer is shown on the item.

How do I ask for a refund?

  1. Open what you bought

Find the order, ticket or voucher in the app. For an order, choose the option to report a problem. For the rest, choose Request refund.

  2. Say what went wrong

Pick a reason. For an order you choose what happened, such as a missing item or cold food, and you can add a few words of your own.

  3. Wait for the answer

The place reviews every request. You get a notification, and a note on the order or ticket says what was decided.

What can I ask for a refund on?

Four kinds of purchase can be asked about, each with its own time limit:

  • An order: for twenty-four hours after it is delivered or collected. A delivery that is still out and more than fifteen minutes past its estimate can be reported too.
  • An event ticket: any time before the event ends, if the ticket has not been used.
  • An offer ticket: within fourteen days of buying. A bundle can only be asked about while none of its uses has been used.
  • A voucher: within fourteen days of buying.

What reasons can I give?

For an order you choose what happened: a missing item, the wrong item, cold or poor-quality food, very late, or something else. A delivery also offers three reasons of its own: it never arrived, it went to the wrong address, or there was a problem with the driver.

For a ticket or a voucher you may pick a reason from a short list, such as changing your mind or buying by mistake, or describe it in your own words.

Who decides, and can I get part of the money back?

The place decides. It can approve a request in full, approve part of it, or decline it. You cannot ask for a part yourself; the place chooses the part.

For an event ticket the part can be chosen seats or an amount. For an order it can be chosen items or an amount, and for an offer ticket an amount. A voucher is approved in full or declined.

What do “partly refunded” and “being checked” mean?

Partly refunded means the place approved some of what you asked for, and the note shows the amount, or the seats. Declined comes with a note from the place if it left one.

Being checked means Mosey could not tell whether a refund had gone through, and is asking the card processor. It will not refund twice. If no refund was ever made, the request goes back to the place and you are told.

Where does the money go, and what about a festival ticket?

A refund goes back to the card you paid with. For a voucher you get back what is left on it, and the processing fee you paid when you bought it is not refunded.

A festival ticket is decided by the festival’s organiser, who is told when you ask. For an order, Mosey also adds a note to your chat with the place so you can follow up.

What if I only want to cancel?

Some purchases can simply be cancelled, which is not the same as a request. A place can let you cancel a ticket for a full refund until a cut-off it sets, and an unused voucher can be cancelled within fourteen days.

When cancelling is no longer possible, the app points you to asking the place for a refund instead.

Why ask in Mosey?

Because the request reaches the people who decide it with the order and your reason already attached. The answer comes back to the same screen, with a note from the place if it says no.

  • One request for each item, so nothing is sent twice.
  • The amount refunded is shown to you as the place approved it.
  • A refund that may not have gone through is checked, never guessed.

Questions about asking for a refund

  • What can I ask for a refund on?

An order, a ticket to an event, a ticket to an offer, and a voucher. Each has its own time limit, set out above.

  • How long do I have to ask?

For an order, twenty-four hours after it is delivered or collected. For an offer ticket or a voucher, fourteen days from buying. For an event ticket, any time before the event ends, as long as the ticket has not been used.

  • Can I send a second request for the same thing?

No. While a request is waiting, or after one has been approved, Mosey will not take another for the same item.

  • Can I ask for only part of the money back?

You ask about the item as a whole. The place decides how much to approve: all of it, chosen seats or items, or an amount.

  • What does “Refund being checked” mean?

Mosey could not tell straight away whether the refund went through, so it is asking the card processor. You do not need to do anything, and you are told the result.

  • What if the check finds no refund was made?

The request goes back to the place to look at again, and you are told that it has.

  • Who decides a refund on a festival ticket?

The festival’s organiser, not the place where the festival is held. The organiser can approve it in full, for chosen seats or for an amount, or decline it.

  • Where does the money go?

Back to the card you paid with. It can take a few days to reach you.

  • I paid for a voucher at the place itself. Can I ask here?

No. A voucher paid for at the place was a payment to the place, so ask the place about a refund.
