Catering and company orders
Catering and corporate orders for restaurants and cafés
A customer sends a request, you answer with a quote, they accept and a deposit holds the date. Companies can order for their teams through Mosey for Teams and land in the same queue.
Free to claim
Every tool is optional.
How do I win catering and office lunch orders?
Catering is some of the best money in a food business: a big order, paid for in advance, on a day you choose. It is also hard to win. Enquiries come by phone, email and Instagram, quotes are written from scratch each time, and the customer who asked three businesses goes with whoever replies first.
Office orders are better still, because they repeat. An office that finds you once can order every Thursday. But companies want approvals, purchase order numbers and an invoice, none of which fit a normal takeaway order.
Mosey puts catering requests in one queue, helps you build a quote in minutes and takes a deposit to hold the date. Mosey for Teams brings company orders into the same queue, with approval and payment handled on the company's side.
How does catering work on Mosey?
Set up your catering menu
Switch on Catering in Enable features and mark the dishes you will cater for, with how many people each serves. In Settings add your lead time, your delivery area and your deposit, and set up payouts so the deposit can reach you.
Answer a request with a quote
Open Requests, read the date, numbers and any dietary needs, and build a quote from your menu and your own pricing rules. The customer can accept, ask for changes or decline. A new quote replaces an unanswered one, so there is never a competing price.
Hold the date and deliver
Once the customer accepts, they pay the deposit in the app and the balance is collected as you set it. The job goes on your Calendar, so you can see capacity before you accept another.
What do my customers and companies see?
A quote they can act on
A customer sees only the lines you put on the quote. Your pricing rules, such as a delivery charge or a minimum order, are internal by default and pre-fill your quote without ever being shown.
An order made for offices
With Mosey for Teams, a company can send a one-off order, run a pick-your-own lunch where each person chooses a dish from a link, set a standing order that repeats weekly, or buy vouchers and event tickets as gifts for named staff.
Approval and payment on their side
Companies often have approval rules, so a request above a set amount waits for an approver in their team. A company pays by saved card or, with agreed terms, by invoice, and the money reaches your Stripe account through the same catering flow.
Companies order from whoever answers first with a price they can approve.
How do I get ready for catering and company orders?
- Claim your business free, connect Stripe and open Account, then Enable features, and switch on Catering.
- List only what you can do well at volume: platters, trays and per-head lunches, each with the number it serves.
- Set your pricing rules from the kitchen out: food, labour, packaging, transport and a margin. They stay internal.
- Set your lead time, your area and your deposit, and decide whether you accept company orders and standing orders without asking each time.
- Ask for allergens and dietary needs in writing and pass them to the kitchen. A pick-your-own round collects them for each person.
- Answer every request the same day, with a per-head price, packaging and delivery as their own lines and a deadline for final numbers.
What does catering cost on Mosey?
There is no subscription for catering. When the customer pays, Mosey takes 3% of the job from you, and Stripe's card fee is passed through at cost. The customer pays a booking fee on top, and a company pays a service fee on top of that. A company that is overdue on invoice terms is paused from placing new orders.

- 3%
How is this different from taking catering enquiries by phone and email?
A phone call and an email thread have no memory. Mosey keeps the request, the quote, the deposit and the date together, so you never ask who someone is or what they were quoted.
Because pricing rules pre-fill the quote, a job can be quoted in minutes at the same standard each time, and you can see over a few jobs what catering really costs you.
Company orders arrive labelled with the company, a cost centre and a purchase order number where they have one. You answer them like any other catering request, and for a pick-your-own lunch you get one order and a sheet listing who chose what.
Who is catering right for: café, restaurant, bar or food truck?
Cafés and delis with sandwiches, platters and trays are the classic fit for office lunches. Restaurants can take buffets, canapés and private parties. A bakery can cater for meetings and celebrations. A food truck can take bookings for events and work parties. A business with no spare kitchen capacity on weekdays should keep catering off until it has some.

Catering and company order questions from owners
Who can answer catering requests?
People with the manage catering permission, which owners and managers have by default. Staff do not, because a quote sets a price and takes a deposit.
Will customers see my internal pricing rules?
No. Pricing rules are internal by default. They pre-fill your quote, and the customer sees only the lines you put on it.
Can I send a second quote?
Yes. A new quote replaces the unanswered one, so a customer never has two competing prices.
Who takes the payment?
The customer pays through the app into your own Stripe account. You set the deposit and balance terms in Settings, and your cancellation terms apply if they cancel.
What is Mosey for Teams?
A company ordering app where offices order food from Mosey businesses. Their orders land in your catering queue marked with the company, and you answer them like any other request.
Can I take standing orders?
Yes. A company can set an order to repeat every week. It is a setting whether you accept standing orders without asking each time.
Can I waive the deposit for a trusted company?
Yes. You can choose to waive the deposit for companies you trust.
