How to transfer a booking to a friend, or offer your table to someone else
Mosey · 23 October 2026 · 3 min read

If you cannot make a booking, you can transfer it to a friend or offer the table to anyone. Open the booking in My Bookings and choose Transfer to send it to someone you follow, who has 24 hours to accept before it returns to you. Or choose Offer slot to list the table as a last-minute slot: if somebody claims it, your deposit is refunded in full. Either is kinder to the place than a no-show.
How does a transfer work?
Open My Bookings from the You menu, choose the booking and tap Transfer. The screen is titled Transfer booking and says you are sending your booking at the place, on the date and time, to a friend. They have 24 hours to accept before the booking returns to you.
- Search the people you follow. If you do not follow anyone yet, the screen suggests following people on Mosey to transfer bookings to them.
- Add a message if you like. It is optional.
- Tap Send transfer request. The app confirms that the request was sent.
Your friend gets a request that says someone wants to hand a table booking over to them, with the date and time. They accept or decline. If they accept, the booking becomes theirs. If they do not respond within 24 hours, it comes back to you.
What happens to the deposit?
A deposit does not move between guests. There is no guest-to-guest money. If a deposit was paid, the place's rule applies to the new booking holder: for a transfer, ask the place how it handles it, and settle the cost between you and your friend directly. Read reservation deposits and refunds for the general rules.
What is Offer slot?
If you paid a deposit and cannot go, the cancel screen may show a box that says you would forfeit your deposit and that you can offer the slot to someone else to get it back. Offer slot lists your table as a last-minute table in the Reserve view. The booking shows as Listed. Another guest claims it and pays the place's deposit themselves. When they do, your original deposit is refunded in full, and the booking is theirs.
If nobody claims it, the place's normal cancellation policy applies to you, as if you had cancelled at that point. You can withdraw the listing at any time: the app asks whether to withdraw the listing, which removes your slot from Last-Minute Tables and makes your booking active again.
Which should you choose?
If you know a friend who would like the table, transfer it. They get a table, you avoid a no-show, and the place is happy. If you do not know anyone, offer the slot: the table goes back into circulation and you have a chance of getting your deposit back. If it is inside the place's free cancellation window, cancel.
What if your friend declines?
The booking stays with you. Try another friend, offer the slot, or cancel under the place's policy. The earlier you act, the better the chance the table is used.
Can the place see this?
Yes. The place sees that the booking has been transferred or listed, so it knows who is coming. A transfer or an offered slot is not a no-show.
