How to
How to join a company's staff directory, and what it can and cannot see
Mosey · 23 October 2026 · 3 min read

A company can keep a directory of people by Mosey username so that it can send them gifts, event tickets, a coffee or a lunch inside the app. It can only add you if you say yes. When you get an invitation, the screen tells you who is asking and exactly what the company would see: your display name and your username, and nothing else. You can accept, decline, or decline and block the company, and you can leave at any time. Declining is not announced to the company.
What does an invitation look like?
You get a notification, "a company invited you", and a screen titled with the company's name. It shows what the company would see about you: the name and username you already show on Mosey. It never shows your email, phone number, location or anything else. It also tells you that if you decline, the company is not told. Three choices follow: accept, decline, or decline and block.
If there are several waiting, a list shows them all.
What happens if you accept?
The company can send you things inside Mosey: a gift voucher, which arrives in your wallet with the company's name on it; event tickets, which appear in Tickets with "From" the company and work at the door; a coffee; and links to pick your own lunch. It can also ask "would you like to go?" about an event, and you answer yes or no. Gifts from a company cannot be refunded or transferred by you, but you can use them as normal. The company is told that you accepted, and it may offer a welcome gift, but nothing is sent automatically.
What about your birthday and work anniversary?
You can choose to share your birthday or work anniversary with one company, as a day and a month, never the year, and it is off by default. The picker has no year control. The company can then see an upcoming date in its list and decide whether to send something. You can stop sharing at any time. Nothing is sent without the company choosing to.
How do you answer "who is coming"?
When a company asks you about an event, you see the question with the event, date and place, and answer yes or no. You can change your answer while the question is open. The company sees the names of the people who said yes, and only counts for no and waiting. Answers are deleted 90 days after the event.
How do you leave?
Open the Companies page in Settings and choose Leave. You leave at once. The company's record of you becomes a note that you are no longer listed, and it stops being able to send you anything. You can leave and block, so that the company cannot invite you again.
How do you stop invitations?
In Settings, switch off Allow companies to invite me. Any invitations waiting are withdrawn without telling the companies. You can block a particular company and lift the block later.
What if you do not recognise a company?
Decline, or decline and block. The company is not told. If you think it is suspicious, report it using Help and Support. The company cannot see why you declined.
How long does an invitation last?
An invitation lapses after 30 days. You get one reminder after seven days. If you were invited and want it back, ask the company to invite you again.
