How does paying with your phone work?
Mosey Pay is a way to pay at places that have switched it on. You save a card in the app once. After that, paying is a scan, a glance at the amount and a tap.
The place never sees your card number. It sees that a payment arrived, and you see a record in the app.
How do I pay with Mosey Pay?
Save a card once
Add a card in the app. It is held by our payment provider rather than by the place, and you can remove it whenever you like.
Scan or share your code
At a place that takes Mosey Pay, scan the code on the till, or show your own code and let staff enter the amount.
Check and confirm
The place and the amount appear on your phone. Add a tip if you want to, and confirm. Nothing is taken until you do.
How is a tip handled?
Tip options are shown on the confirm screen, based on the norm where you are and on the food, before tax. Nothing is selected for you. If you do not want to tip, you do not tip.
What do I get afterwards?
A record of the payment in your history, progress on any loyalty card the place runs, and a notice if the place refunds you. Loyalty is counted automatically, so there is nothing to show at the counter.
Where can I use it?
At places that take Mosey Pay. Not every place has switched it on, so ask at the till. A place that takes it will show you a code to scan or ask for yours.
What if the bill is split between friends?
Ask the place to split it on the till. Each person can then pay their share in whatever way they like, including with their phone.
Why pay with Mosey Pay?
Because you can leave when you are ready. There is no waiting for the card machine to come back, you can see exactly what you are paying, and your tip is your decision.

Questions about paying with your phone
Do I need the app to pay this way?
Yes. You pay from your phone in the Mosey app, with a card you have saved there.
Is a tip chosen for me?
No. The tip options are shown with nothing selected, and no tip is a normal choice. Percentages are worked out on the food, before tax. If the staff added a tip on the till, it is shown already set.
What if I change my mind?
You can cancel before you confirm. Nothing is taken from your card until you do.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are the place's decision. If they refund you, the app tells you, and the payment shows in your payment history.
Do I earn loyalty rewards when I pay this way?
Yes. If the place runs a loyalty card, a payment through Mosey Pay counts towards it without anyone stamping anything.
Where can I see what I have paid?
In your payment history in the app, which lists each payment with the place and the amount.
